Gifts

Your presence is the most treasured gift of all. Should you wish to mark the occasion, a contribution toward our honeymoon would be received with love.

Before you book

Plan your trip

July is Bali at its finest — and its busiest. Flights and the good rooms go early, so we would book both by January, with free cancellation wherever you can.

Sat 3Arrive
Mon 5The wedding
Fri 9Depart

Come for the week if you can. It is a long way for a weekend, and Sunday arrivals have a habit of becoming Monday ones.

Flying in

Everyone lands at Ngurah Rai, Denpasar (DPS). From London it is one stop, usually through the Gulf or Singapore. A morning arrival makes the first day far easier.

Before you fly

  1. PassportValid for at least six months from the day you arrive.
  2. e-Visa on ArrivalOnline at evisa.imigrasi.go.id · IDR 500,000 · thirty days. Apply a few days before you travel.
  3. Arrival cardFree, at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id, in the 72 hours before you land.
  4. Bali tourist levyIDR 150,000, at lovebali.baliprov.go.id. Keep the QR code on your phone.

Use only the official .go.id sites — plenty of lookalikes charge a fee for the same forms.

Where to stay

Accommodation

The villa sits on the Bukit, the limestone headland at Bali's southern tip. Stay on the Bukit and you are within half an hour of us. Nothing here is walkable, so choose somewhere you would happily spend a whole day.

Padang Padang
8 min
The most central strip — cafés, yoga, a beach through a crack in the cliff. Our pick for first-timers.
Bingin
10 min
Clifftop guesthouses and the best coffee on the hill. The beach below is being rebuilt, so stay for the view rather than the sand.
Ungasan
12 min
Quiet clifftop resorts and infinity pools above Melasti. Where to go to be looked after.
Balangan
15 min
A long flat beach, low-key rooms and gentle surf. Good with children.
Jimbaran
25 min
Nearer the airport — larger hotels and seafood on the sand at sunset.
Nusa Dua
35 min
A calm resort strip with flat, paved promenades. The easiest choice if stairs are a concern.

Drive times are to the villa, outside the sunset hours.

Room block

We are arranging rates at a couple of places close to the villa — details to follow. If you would like to book now, choose free cancellation and you can always switch.

Getting around

Travel

From the airport
About 21 km south — forty-five minutes on a clear road, up to ninety if you land in the afternoon. Pre-book a car, or use the official taxi desk in arrivals.
Around the island
Hire a driver by the day — one price for the car, so it is best shared — and use Grab or Gojek for short hops. We would rather you did not hire a scooter: you need a motorcycle licence, and without one most travel insurance will not cover you.
Timing
Between four and seven the whole island drives to the Bukit for the sunset. Move about in the middle of the day.
On the day
We will arrange transport to and from the villa — please do not book your own car for the Monday.
